County Squad

About County Squad:

County Squad has been designed to allow swimmers to attain a very good standard of swimming at a participation level that allows them to continue in the sport alongside other commitments in modern day life. Swimmers focus is on developing their skills for performance with The Wiltshire County Championships as the main target meet of the swimming season alongside supporting the clubs own open meets where swimmers will aim for personal bests and compete in a wide range of events. Swimmers will be required to compete in the club championships and when selected for league and club galas.

Competitive Pathway Aims & Objectives:

  1. To develop an environment and culture where swimmers have the ability to remain in the sport at a level with a training commitment that offers participation, fun, significant health benefits and competition to Wiltshire County standard.
  2. Swimmers will develop:  Good all round physical abilities; endurance, strength, speed, co-ordination, balance, power, agility.
  3. Develop a strong team spirit and enjoyment for time spent with peers at training and competition as well a strong social element to allow swimmers time to relax and bond.   

Age Range: 12 - 15 years


Emphasis on aerobic development and conditioning, individualisation of fitness and skill development. Swimmers will progress to age group swimming homing their skills and building the aerobic engine. 

Swim Specific:

Development of all four strokes and Individual Medley. 

Athlete Development Support Pathway Stage: Train to Train

Attendance - minimum 4 sessions per week
