Background & Experience:

Collette is a former competitive swimmer who competed at County, Regional and National level for Taunton Dean S.C., Millfield and the British Army Swimming. Collette has had recent success in the World Masters Games, New Zealand in 2017, where she won 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 5 Bronze medals in pool and open water events. Collette’s main events are 400 IM, 200 fly, 100 fly, 200 brst and 100 brst. Collette has also taken part in Open Water swimming and has been part of two channel crossing relay teams, two round Jersey relay races and numerous OWS League races across the UK. 

Collette began coaching with her home club Taunton Deane S.C. and at a local Tri Club swim session in 2001. In 2005 Collette joined the British Army where she assisted with Unit swimming sessions. as a qualified Personal Trainer Collette was able to use her skills daily to build her own programme and to support her military colleagues. In 2013 Collette became involved with a “Help for Heroes” Sports Rehabilitation Programme called Team True Spirit; their ethos is recovery through sport, hoping to give injured soldiers and veterans a focus in order to adapt, tackle life and move forward. Collette coached and taught non- and experienced-swimmers to a standard to complete several half and full Ironman events, cross-channel relays and the Arch to Arc Triathlon. In 2014 Collette started Crossfit to compliment her swimming training and has used her PT experience to coach Crossfit since 2015 coaching at Stonehenge Crossfit Centre, in Salisbury.  Collette joined Stingrays in September 2019 and she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her roles. Collette brings energy and enthusiasm to her sessions and is a great motivator, keeping swimmers positive and engaged. Collette is keen to continue her coaching journey and develop her skills further and will be undertaking her Level 2 swimming coaching and teaching qualifications shortly.
