This area is dedicated to the competitive squads of Salisbury Stingrays. All swimmers are asked to check in once a week for information regarding training, fixtures and testing results. Please check out your squad pages. If you use facebook, please join the facebook group, then all new posts will come direct to your facebook page saving you the time and effort of logging onto the website.
The Code of Conduct has now been uploaded, with the first 3 pages of the document applying to the swimmers, the next to the club coaches, officials and volunteers, and the final to all parents/guardians and carers.
The Squad Handbook contains all the information you need as a new swimmer of someone who has been part of the squad for a while. Please download the PDF below and keep it for future reference.
Squad selection is determined by the Head Coach taking into consideration the views of the other coaches, attendance, performance and attitude and discipline within the swimming environment.
There are several different squads within the Stingrays competitive swimming squad. The starting point is the Skills Development Squads, most of whom have come through Learn to Swim and have two hours training per week. At the T1 and T2 level, swimmers are expected to train more than 10 hours per week. Swimmers progress through the squads as they get older and faster.
Expectations and Achievements
Each squad has a minimum attendance and achievement requirement. All swimmers may commit to attend more training if they wish, however please note that this will require additional commitment from the swimmer’s family.
The achievements are linked to qualifying times at County and Regional level. For details of these qualifying times, please see the Club notice board or visit the relevant websites. In addition to training and competing, there are opportunities for swimmers to assist at meets and/or train to be coaches.
