Hi Swimmers,Welcome to the first Coaches Blog!
Once a month I'm going to be writing a Coaches blog and send it out. In it will be what is happening this month and early next month, galas, socials, birthdays and any other relevant information you might find interesting.
Achievements
Congratulations to Adam Davidson and Gabby Pountney who have been picked to represent Wiltshire in a county gala, there are 40 other Counties attend the gala next weekend up at Sheffield. Good Luck and have fun.
Speedo League
We had our first Speedo League last night, well done to all of those who swam we were third. The swimmer of the gala was Ben Bourne, Well done Ben!
Club Championships
The Club Championships will be held on Saturday the 3rd November at Five Rivers Leisure
Centre. There will be 50âs of all strokes and an IM. On the Friday night before we will be running the 400 Front crawl championships at Godolphin Pool.
Team Captains
It is the month when we decide who we want as Team Captains. We need 4 people who are willing to stand for Team Captains. This job means you will encourage your fellow team mates to cheer for their team. You will look after the swimmers who are going to galas for the first time. You will be a role model for all swimmers. But most importantly of all you will have to go and collect the Trophies when we win. Are you the person for this post? We need a male and female 12 and under for the Junior Captains and a male and female over 12 to stand for the Senior Captains. We will ask for people to stand up over a period of 2 weeks, starting on the 14th October. They will then be voted for and announced at the Club Championships.
Social Events
On the first Saturday of every month we will be heading into town after training for breakfast, we will be at the French Restaurant in the Market Square if you wish to join us. Also on the board there is a notice asking for ideas for a Christmas Social so if you fancy swimming in a Santa suit or having a bowling party put your idea up on the board. The date has yet to be confirmed.
