Learn to Swim

The Learn to Swim Programme at Salisbury Stingrays ASC offers children of all ages and abilites the opportunity to swim, socialise and succeed.  There are four main sections to the Learn to Swim, all of which are headed by our Section Heads.

Sunday – Five Rivers Leisure Centre

Headed by Dave Currie

Caters for stages 1 to 6 of the National Plan for Teaching Swimming (details of which can be found in the following pages).  Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4 are half hourly slots either 6:00pm till 6:30pm or 6:30pm till 7:00pm.  Stages 5 and 6 are hourly slots from 6:00pm till 7:00pm.

Monday – Five Rivers Leisure Centre

Headed by Chris Collins

Caters for stages 6 to 10 of the NPTS from 6:00pm till 7:00pm.

Thursday Juniors – Godolphin School

Headed by Nell Walker

Cater for stages 6 and 10 of the NPTS from 7:15pm till 8:15pm.

Thursday Seniors – Godolphin School

Headed by Nell Walker

Cater for older swimmers wanting to continue learning or late developers joining the sport for fitness from 8:15pm till 9:15pm.

All stages are well staffed with a qualified experienced teacher leading each lane ably assisted by enthusiastic assistants, many of whom are squad swimmers.

Within the Learn to Swim pages you will be able to find information on the National Plan for Teaching Swimming from the ASA, in addition to details of re-booking and payments, lane allocations and termly dates.  You can also find out how to join the programme.

During the Summer term of 2010 we ran a “Splash Gala” for all swimmers within the Learn to Swim programme catering for all stages, this is due to be an annual event details of which can be found within the “Splash Gala” pages.
