Swim with the Stars – A great success!

Our Swim with the Stars event held at the Godolphin School on Saturday 25th September was a great success and all the swimmers had an enjoyable and fun afternoon.  We were honoured to have James Goddard and Harry Needs attend to provide swim coaching and land training as well as talk to us about our future goals.  Needless to say a few autographs were taken too!

Stingrays win Top Visiting Club Award

We are delighted to be awarded the ‘Top visiting club award’ at the Poole Season Starter L3 Open Meet this weekend.  As a club, we certainly made our presence felt with an amazing collection of medals won and some fantastic pb’s swam by all.  Well done Stingrays!

Clifford Trophy Winners 2015

The Clifford trophies are awarded annually to the top male & female swimmers in our Thursday Seniors section.

On the night of the competition the swimmers are required to swim a length of each stroke & are marked on their technical ability rather than their speed.  Judges this year were Ron Pankhurst & Jenny Wiltshire.  Well done to all swimmers who took part – medals were awarded to the top three in each stroke – as well as the volunteer marshalls, judges & recorders.

The winners were Madelaine and James.

Masters Coach Wins Award!

We are delighted to announce that our Masters Coach, Ron Pankhurst, won the “Long Service to Sport” award at the 2015 Wiltshire Sports Awards In October.

This is well deserved recognition of all Ron has done, and continues to do, in the world of swimming.

Five Rivers Update – 22nd October 2015

All, I have been advised that the reception will be moving across from the current reception area to the new area over half term.  I don’t know exactly what date this will take place, but please don’t be surprised if you are directed to the new entrance at some stage over the next week or so.   You will then be walking along a corridor to gain entrance to the pool.

The current reception area will be borded up along the edge of the café eating area.  There will no longer be any tables in the café area and it will be the only access to the spectator area of the pool.  Therefore, space will be very limited for viewing during LTS in particular.

We have been fortunate to date with very little disruption from the campus work other than the parking congestion.  Please be patient over this last stage and note that we may have to change some of our practices to accommodate, eg swimmers may need to access the pool from the change rooms only.
